Budapest – Mátra-alja – Eger –
Budapest
Day 1:
Arriving at Budapest Airport where you are welcomed by our
representative and escorted to your executive mini bus. Transfer
to your 4 star Hotel. Free time in Budapest. Dinner at the
Hotel with Champagne.
Day 2:
After breakfast departing for Eger, North-East direction.
First stop-over is at Gödöllő, 20 miles North
of Budapest, where we will visit the Royal Palace built c1733,
a favourite place of Queen Elisabeth, the wife of Austrian
emperor Franz Joseph. Then we travel to Gyöngyös,
where we visit Szőke Mátyás winery. After
tasting the wines, we make our way to Eger where we visit
József Hagymási winery for more wine tasting.
Free time to visit the historic town of Eger, including the
Castle. We stay overnight at the 4 star Spa Hotel.
Day 3:
After breakfast we have some free time in Eger. After lunch,
we travel to the beautiful Lillafüred. A popular and
attractive town with caves, and a water fall on the shore
of the Hamori Lake. We stay for the night at the medieval
Hunting Lodge style spa hotel by Hámory Lake.
Day 4:
After breakfast travel southward, visit the Puszta and the
Hortobagy. Lunch with more wines Csarda, the traditional Hungarian
restaurant in the Puszta. Arrive in Budapest in the afternoon
check-in at the 4 star hotel. Have free time in the evening.
Day 5:
After breakfast travel to airport for your homeward journey.
